Cancel with 3+ working days notice: full refund. Cancel with less: lose your fee. Or skip the hassle — swap your date for free with TestSwap.
Swap Instead of CancelBefore you cancel: If you just want a different date, consider using TestSwap to swap instead. You keep your test booking, get a new date, and pay nothing. Cancelling means re-joining the queue — which is currently 8–22 weeks long.
You can cancel online in under 2 minutes.
Check your notice period
Count 3 clear working days from today (excluding weekends and bank holidays). If your test falls within that window, you will not receive a refund.

Go to gov.uk/cancel-driving-test and sign in with the email address you used when booking. You'll also need your booking reference number.
Select your test and cancel
Find your booking in the list, click on it, and choose the cancel option. Confirm the cancellation when prompted.
Wait for your refund
DVSA will refund the full test fee within 3–5 working days back to your original card or payment method.
